IDF Oman to host premier international interior design, décor & furniture exhibition

H.E. Ahmed bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Mehrzi, Minister of Tourism will preside over the formal inauguration of 3rd IDF Oman – Interior Design, Décor & Furniture Exhibition which is organized by Al Nimr Expo, under the patronage of the Ministry of Housing & Public Authority for Craft Industries, Sultanate of Oman will be held from 15 – 17 February, 2016 at the Oman International Exhibition Centre in Seeb.

H.E. Ahmed bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Mehrzi, Minister of Tourism will preside over the formal inauguration of 3rd IDF Oman – Interior Design, Décor & Furniture Exhibition which is organized by Al Nimr Expo, under the patronage of the Ministry of Housing & Public Authority for Craft Industries, Sultanate of Oman will be held from 15 – 17 February, 2016 at the Oman International Exhibition Centre in Seeb.
Oman’s rapid progress in the construction and the real estate sector, has witnessed the launch of numerous commercial, residential & tourism projects, thus creating a demand for interior & outdoor design, décor & furnishings.
The key objective of the exhibition is to display the latest in technology, usage of materials and innovative approaches to interior design, décor & furniture. IDF has helped meet the growing demand, by bringing together all the leading companies in the industry under one roof.
In its third edition, IDF Oman will be showcasing Accessories & Art, Bathroom, Building Material, Carpets, Commercial Interiors & Fit Out, Décor, Flooring, Furniture & Furnishings, Interior Design, Kitchen, Lightings, Luxury Life Style, Outdoor Design & Build, Renovation, Retail Fit-Out and Eco Building, Surfaces & Finishes, Textiles, Vastu & Fengshui, to compliment the on-going construction of major infrastructure projects in the Sultanate, making the exhibition an ‘exclusive emporium’.
The exhibition will feature more than 105 companies, with over 65 international companies from across the globe surpassing the past two editions. More than 35 companies will be represented by Italy which is managed by MEDINIT SRL for the 3rd year running. Once again Alfardan Motors LLC supporting the exhibition by displaying 2 Maserati Cars to justify Italians as one of the finest and niche designers in the world. Italy has long been seen as the structure of western art and design and their design concepts, beautifully allow us to create an identity and express our chosen lifestyle and individuality.

Special highlights of IDF Oman will be the CasaMedinit – Made in Italy, The Villa Project, Paragon Arts activity and Sorabi Live Art by Mr. Jaafar Hamza
THE VILLA, a lifestyle through the centuries will be one of the main highlights of IDF Oman which is created by Opera architects will welcome visitors at the entrance of CasaMédinit. The Venetian Villas describe a unique case in the world, an element which characterizes the region, where architecture and landscape, art and craftsmanship combine to create a real “Museum” consists of a collection of over 4000 buildings. This model typical of the Venetian area represents a precious heritage of our past and even today constitutes an element of great relevance appreciated worldwide as an icon of a lifestyle and elegance at the same time dynamic and creative.
The concept of THE VILLA comes from the desire to exploit this invaluable cultural heritage made of traditions and secular experiences through the involvement of local companies that reproduce in a modern way the skillful mastery of techniques and processes in use since ancient times.
The space will be an opportunity to bring and introduce everything in Oman, a country which despite boasting centuries of history is deeply fascinated by the Made in Italy and is able to understand and appreciate the quality and craftsmanship.
Paragon Arts will be another highlight of the exhibition which is a non-profit, educational, social and entertainment CSR initiative created by Paragon International and sponsored by Al Mouj Muscat. The initiative aims at further promoting the local art movement, contributing towards exposing Oman-based artists and their art onto a wider arena and a global audience with a focus on art education and training by leading artists from all around the world most of whom reside in Oman.
All elements of the Paragon Arts program commence in public spaces so as to expose and engage the greatest number of art aficionado public to art and artists in an environment that is both entertaining and social. All activities are covered by traditional media and paragons own network of social media platforms.
First time in Oman, Mr. Jaafar Hamza, Creative Director of BOXOBIA from the Kingdom of Bahrain will perform the Live Sorabi Art – A unique fusion of Chinese style art with Arabic lettering. Mr. Hamza said “I would like to thank Al Nimr Expo in giving this opportunity to showcase a unique form of art which is unseen by the citizens here. The art is a combination of three features: One being painting the manuscripts in reverse which can be read only with a mirror, second being the Sorabi Art – a mix of Chinese art with Arabic letters and lastly the tool being used, which is only a pen.
