HM The Sultan Transfers Affiliation Of NCSI To Council Of Ministers In New Royal Decree

His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik issued two Royal decrees today [April 17] reading as follows:
Royal Decree No. 14/2022 introduces amendments to the State’s Administrative Apparatus.
Article (1) stipulates that the amendments attached to this decree shall apply to the system of the State’s Administrative Apparatus promulgated under Royal Decree No. 75/2020.
Article (2) cancels all that contradicts the amendments attached to this decree or contravenes their provisions.
Article (3) says that this decree shall be published in the Official Gazette and enforced on the day following its date of publishing.
Royal Decree No. 15/2022 introduces amendments to Royal Decree No. 31/2012 on the establishment of the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).
Article (1) replaces the text of the First Article of aforementioned Royal Decree No. 31/2012 as follows: “A centre titled National Centre for Statistics and Information shall be established and shall report to the Council of Ministers.”
Article (2) the term “Minister of Economy”, wherever it has occurred in the System of the National Centre for Statistics and Information, shall be replaced with the term “Council of Ministers”.
Article (3) cancels all that contradicts this decree or contravenes its provisions.
Article (4) says that this decree shall be published in the Official Gazette and enforced from its date of issue.
The NCSI, the premier public portal for data and statistics in the Sultanate, was earlier affiliated with the Ministry of Economy.
