Ooredoo becomes first Omani Company to achieve ISO 31000:2018 ERM

Achieving another first in compliance excellence, Ooredoo Oman has successfully achieved ISO 31000:2018 Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) for its Service Assurance & Optimization Department (SA&O). The certification ceremony was held at Ooredoo Oman’s cooperate office, and was attended by senior members of the company and external auditor firm Bureau Veritas.

The latest in a string of ISO accreditations for the telecoms company, the ISO 31000:2018 ERM Guidelines recognise the adoption of best standards of practice, principles, frameworks and processes for managing risk. The Ooredoo Oman Service Assurance team led by Ahmed Abdullah Al Abri, Chief Technology & Information Officer, are credited for achieving the certification, which is applicable for a period of three years.

Ahmed Al Abri said, “We are proud to have successfully established an inclusive risk management framework. The ISO 31000:2018 Guidelines have helped the company increase operational efficiency, strengthen the organisational risk management culture, and accomplish its overall objectives. It’s part of our commitment to delivering quality across every part of our operations and in turn, add value to our customers.”
