Oman Oil earmarks more than OMR 100,000 for community programs
Oman Oil Marketing Company (omanoil) signed an agreement with the Ministry of Social Development earmarking over OMR 100,000 to support four community programs targeting families on social security including undergraduate students and aspiring entrepreneurs.

Oman Oil Marketing Company (omanoil) signed an agreement with the Ministry of Social Development earmarking over OMR 100,000 to support four community programs targeting families on social security including undergraduate students and aspiring entrepreneurs.
The partnership was signed by H.E. Dr. Yahya bin Badr Al Maawali, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Development and omanoil Chairman, Sheikh Salem bin Abdallah Al Rawas, in the presence of the Minister of Social Development, H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Said bin Saif Al Kalbani.
The programs falling under the agreement include Kader; a scholarship fund that will support students from social security families complete their undergraduate degree, an Entrepreneurship Program designed to support job seekers on social security start their own businesses through training and funding and a Stability Program aimed at providing the necessary home appliances to families in need. The agreement also includes funding a year-long awareness campaign that will help shed light on the various challenges facing families on social security today.
Chairman Sheikh Salem Abdallah Al Rawas, commented on the occasion, “At omanoil, Corporate Social Responsibility is not only a business management mechanism but also a vehicle for the company and our employees to engage with the community. Our 2016 partnership with the Ministry of Social Development is a translation of our commitment and dedication to be a catalyst of change, and we are confident that together we will make a difference in the socio-economic development of the country.”
Since its inception, omanoil has pioneered various social initiatives across the Sultanate through creative collaborations with government and private sector entities as well as non-for-profit Associations. In addition, the company has developed and executed several social campaigns including the Ata’a and Farah campaigns both of which were successfully received by people across the length and breadth of Oman.
