Meethaq extends support to traditional shooting competition
MUSCAT, 07 February 2016 – Meethaq, the pioneer of Islamic banking in Oman from Bank Muscat, extended support to the annual traditional shooting competitions which concluded in the wilayat of Saham under the auspices of H.E. Shaikh Muhanna bin Saif Al Lamki
Meethaq, the pioneer of Islamic banking in Oman from Bank Muscat, extended support to the annual traditional shooting competitions which concluded in the wilayat of Saham under the auspices of H.E. Shaikh Muhanna bin Saif Al Lamki, Governor of North Batinah. Shooting enthusiasts from different governorates participated in the popular contest.
The support to the event comes within the bank’s strategy to promote and preserve the country’s traditions, heritage and culture. As the nation’s leading Islamic financial institution, Meethaq seeks to utilise opportunities in reaching out to people and familiarising them with the country’s heritage and traditions. In recognition of the support to the event, the bank was honoured in the concluding ceremony of the competition. Sultan Al Maamari, Meethaq Branch Manager in Saham, received the memento from the guest of honour on the occasion.
Aimed at supporting activities linked to the country’s traditions, heritage and culture, Meethaq remains committed to shouldering its developmental and social responsibilities within the framework of co-operation and support to all segments of society. The bank seeks to set an example in extending support to showcase Oman’s heritage and culture as part of activities to develop the country as a favourite destination and thereby promote its tourism potential.
