Bank Muscat launches prepaid card to mark 45th National Day
Bank Muscat, the flagship financial services provider in the Sultanate, in line with its ‘Let’s Do More’ vision and partnership in the country’s development and progress, has launched a pre-paid card celebrating the 45th National Day.

Bank Muscat, the flagship financial services provider in the Sultanate, in line with its ‘Let’s Do More’ vision and partnership in the country’s development and progress, has launched a pre-paid card celebrating the 45th National Day.
The limited edition card features an attractive design highlighting the national colours of white, red and green.
The special card commemorating the glorious achievements of the Sultanate during the last 45 years under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, is available in all Bank Muscat branches across the Sultanate. A bank account is not a pre-requisite to acquire the pre-paid card, which can be used in Oman and abroad.
Tariq Atiq, AGM – Cards & eBanking, said: “Bank Muscat is proud to join the nation and launch the special edition pre-paid card on the occasion of Oman’s 45th Renaissance anniversary. The card is an attractive memorabilia enhancing the joyous experience of the National Day celebrations. The Chip and PIN card ensures enhanced security and convenience.”
The 45th National Day pre-paid card, considered a collector’s item, has a top-up limit of RO 960 and can be replenished on the bank’s CDM network across Oman. Payments using the card are made against funds available in the prepaid account. All transactions are authorised using Personal Identification Number (PIN) instead of signature.
Bank Muscat cards, which spell convenience and security, is the preferred mode of payment in Oman. The wide range of Bank Muscat cards provide a secure option to pay for a host of transactions at shopping malls, restaurants or holiday abroad. Embedded with an electronic chip, the cards ensure maximum protection and peace of mind.
The prepaid card allows customers to be in total control of everyday spending. All payments are made against the funds available in prepaid account, and are debited immediately, preventing customers from overspending. The available balance can be electronically checked before each transaction is completed.
In Oman and the Gulf region, customers can check the balance available in prepaid account through Bank Muscat ATMs and any other ATM which displays the OmanNet / GCC Switch logos. The card facilitates all the conveniences offered by a debit card linked account without the need to maintain an account with the bank.
