Bank Dhofar to launch ‘Our Children Our Responsibility’ campaign
Within the framework of its community outreach and social development initiatives, BankDhofar extended its support to the national symposium ‘Community Partnership for Safe Childhood’ that was organised by the Ministry of Education at the Directorate General of Heritage and Culture in Salalah.

The symposium was inaugurated on Sunday 10 April 2016 by H.E. Sayyid Mohammed bin Sultan Al Busaidi, Minister of State and Governor of Dhofar, and was attended by Dr. Madiha Al Shaibaniyah, Minister of Education, honorable members of the State Council and Majlis A’Shura, as well as a number of child psychologists, social workers, child health experts, officials from the Ministry of Education, teachers and parents.
The symposium highlighted the importance of providing safe and healthy environment for children to grow. Participants also discussed the importance of cooperation between schools and parents in order to positively contribute to the cognitive, emotional and physical growth of children. Furthermore, discussions focused on sustainable efforts and schemes that promote child safety among all segments of society and emphasise on the common responsibility towards children.
Taking proactive steps to support the cause, BankDhofar announced its long term initiative for child safety in line with the symposium, ‘Our Children.. Our Responsibility’. “This strategic campaign aims at bringing together collective efforts by various public and private sector institutions, as well as non-profit organisations, to reinforce child safety,” elaborated Sami Omar Al Zadjali, Executive Manager – Marketing & Corporate Communications at BankDhofar.
“All our social initiatives and community involvement activities come in line with our strategy to reinforce our role as an integral component of society. We, as a socially responsible Omani organisation, spare no efforts to participate in and promote initiatives that contribute to the wellbeing of society and strengthen ties between its members,” he noted.
Taking proactive steps on the path of the Sultanate’s social development and prosperity, BankDhofar puts corporate social responsibility (CSR) at the forefront of its commitments. Community and social awareness campaigns, as well as a strong focus on engaging staff, are being promoted across the BankDhofar through various channels. The bank works towards supporting sustainable CSR initiatives and investing in long term objectives of all its CSR activities. External partnerships with various public and private sector organisations, as well as non-profit and charitable organisations, help BankDhofar extend its outreach and play a proactive role in the community, realising its weight as an integral part of the community. More than just financial support and fund-raising, BankDhofar is dedicated to sustainable philanthropy causes, participating in events and activities across the Sultanate, collaborating with various organisations and non-profit associations to reinforce its social responsibility and community outreach programmes.
