Oman pavilion in Sudan attracts visitors

With more than 680 companies from 33 countries participating in international fair at Khartoum, the Omani pavilion has received significant turnout in Sudan. This is PEIE’s first participation at the International Fair of Khartoum, which comes in line with its efforts to expand markets for the Omani products.
Hamood Al Balushi, director of Omani Products Department at PEIE, said that PEIE is participating at the event with a pavilion that features Omani companies representing various industries to promote the locally manufactured products and explore new markets for these products at the regional and global levels.
“The markets of Nile Basin countries in general and the Sudanese market in particular are characterised by a significant population with more than 40 million people in Sudan, while the population in its neighbouring countries- Egypt and Ethiopia – exceed 100 million. This eventually encourages Omani companies to explore such markets as we have noted satisfaction of the participating companies in the exhibition in Sudan. They aspire at catching major opportunities in Africa,” Al Balushi said.
“In continuation of the efforts undertaken by PEIE to promote Omani products externally, we will participate in a number of international exhibitions during the first quarter of 2018. In addition to the exhibition in Sudan, we will participate with an Omani pavilion at the major Gulfood expo in the UAE by the end of next February and in Kuwait International Agro Food Expo next March,” he added.
Anup Balakrishnan of Omani Vegetable Oils and Derivatives Company stressed that the main objective of being present at this exhibition is to continuously expand the presence of the company externally and showcase the high quality products to various markets.
PEIE’s participation in this exhibition comes as part of Origin Oman Campaign for the year 2018, which aspires at raising awareness on the locally manufactured products and services and their ability to compete locally and abroad simultaneously. The Origin Oman Campaign is a national initiative designed to encourage consumers and organisations to buy Oman made goods and services, promote national pride in the manufacturing industry and highlight the economic importance of choosing and buying locally manufactured products and services.
