Salalah Methanol Company signed nine contracts on social responsibility financed by the company to support a number of projects and development programs in the governorate.
Salalah Methanol Company signed nine contracts on social responsibility financed by the company to support a number of projects and development programs in the governorate.
The contracts were signed on the sidelines of the annual ceremony held by the company this evening at Crowne Plaza Salalah Hotel under the auspices of Dr. Mohammed bin Hamad al- Rumhi, Minister of Oil and Gas in the presence of Sayyid Mohammed bin Sultan al- Busaidi, Minister of State and Governor of Dhofar.
The 1st contract stipulated that Salalah Methanol Company will fund scholarships for low-income and social security families. Under the second contract Salalah Methanol Company will finance a training program in the field of craft industries. The third relates to the financing of a program to establish incubators for entrepreneurs at Salalah Gardens complex.
The 4th and 5th contracts stipulate that Salalah Methanol Company to finance the purchase of prosthetic devices and different medical aids for people with special needs in the Governorate of Dhofar, in addition to financing the purchase of essential household needs of the social security and low income families in the Governorate of Dhofar.
The 6th contract states that Salalah Methanol Company will finance a program to raise the level of schools at the neighboring areas of the plant. The 7th relates to the financing of summer 2016 sports activities in the Governorate of Dhofar.
The 8th contract will fund the purchase of a cooling truck for distribution of goods to families of orphans in various wilayats of the governorate. The 9th contract provided for the finance of training 10 orphans at the international IATA Diploma program.
Awad bin Hassan al- Shanfari, CEO of Salalah Methanol said that these contracts reflect the true partnership between the public and private sectors to work together, noting that social responsibility is one of the basic pillars of sustainable development in order to achieve integration in economic, social and environmental aspects.
