Local Partnership to Establish Oman Real Estate Development Fund
The establishment of the Oman Real Estate Development Fund was announced today. The fund focuses on investment opportunities related to the development of real estate projects in the Sultanate of Oman, within the framework of a local partnership between the Oman National Investments Development Company “Tanmia” and “FIM Partners Muscat”.
The fund aims to invest at least approximately RO96 million in local real estate development projects, focusing on economically viable projects, through investment instruments including preferred stocks and similar investment instruments.
The fund aims to attract long-term institutional capital and provide innovative financing solutions for developers, supported by high standards of governance, investment discipline and project oversight, which contributes to accelerating implementation and achieving sustainable value.
The launch of the fund comes amid the rapid growth witnessed by the real estate sector in the Sultanate of Oman, supported by the continued implementation of the objectives of Oman Vision 2040, the continuation of economic diversification efforts, growing investments in infrastructure and urban development, in addition to the increasing demand for residential, commercial, hospitality and mixed-use projects.
Khaled bin Awad Al Balushi, CEO of Tanmia, said: “This milestone represents another important step in Tanmia’s strategy to build institutional investment platforms. We aim to create a leading investment platform in the local market that provides developers with innovative financing solutions and offers investors a unique opportunity to invest in the Omani real estate development sector.”
For his part, Fares Bu Atma, Head of Real Estate Investment at FIM Partners Muscat, said: “We see that the market is full of promising investment opportunities that benefit from structured and disciplined financing solutions, which support developers and contribute to the development of real estate projects that meet market needs and achieve sustainable value.”
