National Bank of Oman today announced that it has won three prestigious awards at the recently held Banker Middle East Oman Product Awards 2015. At the awards ceremony, NBO walked away with three coveted awards, including Best Loan offering and Best Mortgage product in the Sultanate.
NBO received the awards in recognition of its concerted efforts to introduce innovative propositions aimed at simplifying the banking needs of retail banking customers. During 2015, NBO continued to shine in a competitive market place, and has distinguished itself as a market leader with the launch of several first-to-market retail products. These innovations have further strengthened the bank’s position as an innovator in the retail banking space.

NBO recently introduced a first-of-its-kind 24-hour service guarantee on personal loans, guaranteeing that if a personal loan application is submitted by 11am on any given day with all the necessary documentation, the Bank will disburse the loan amount within 24-hours or else the processing fee would be waived.
In addition, the Bank has extended the proposition further to take account for unforeseen circumstances; customers availing a personal loan have the option of taking a 90-day payment holiday anytime during the year. The Bank also introduced a 90-day payment holiday for customers availing home loans. Therefore, the first installment is paid three months after the loan is disbursed.
In addition to the retail banking awards, NBO also won the ‘Best Trade Finance Product’ award for 2015. In the past few years, the bank has differentiated itself by offering trade finance and advisory solutions combined with its understanding of both local and international trade practices.
The annual awards programme, administered by Banker Middle East magazine, are designed to recognize banking and financial products and services that are either exceptionally innovative or have witnessed excellent financial performance and transference of market share.
NBO recently received the ‘Best Trade Finance Bank in the Sultanate of Oman’ award for 2015 at the Asian Banker Middle East and Africa Awards Ceremony, which was held at the Park Hyatt, Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
