HM The Sultan Issues Two New Royal Decrees

His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik today issued two Royal decrees reading as follows.
Royal Decree No. 56/2022 promulgates the system (bylaw) of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Article (1) states that the system (bylaw) attached to this decree shall be applied to the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Article (2) stipulates that the Chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) shall issue the executive regulation of the attached system (bylaw) within a period of not more than one year from its date of enforcement.
The Chairman of the OCCI shall also issue the financial, administrative and other regulations and decisions necessary for the implementation of provisions of the attached system, provided that the Executive Regulation be published in the Official Gazette. Till such time, the existing regulations and decisions shall continue to be enforced without prejudice to the provisions of the attached system.
Article (3) cancels the system of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry promulgated under Royal Decree No. 45/2017, as well as all that contradicts the attached system or contravenes its provisions.
Article (4) says that this decree shall be published in the Official Gazette and enforced on the day following its date of publishing.
Royal Decree No. 57/2022 on restructuring Oman Human Rights Commission.
Article (1) stipulates that a national commission for human rights to be named “Oman Human Rights Commission” shall be established and that it shall have a legal identity. The headquarters of the commission shall be in the Governorate of Muscat and it may have branches in other governorates.
Article (2) states that the provisions of the system attached to this decree shall be applied to Oman Human Rights Commission.
Article (3) states that the membership of Oman Human Rights Commission shall continue till its restructuring without prejudice to the attached system.
Article (4) cancels Royal Decree No.124/2008 on Establishing Oman Human Rights Commission and Determining its Competencies, as well as all that contradicts this decree and the attached system or contravenes their provisions.
Article (5) says that this decree shall be published in the Official Gazette and enforced on the day following its date of publishing.
