His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik Gives Audience To Russian Foreign Minister
His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik gave an audience at Al Barakah Palace today [May 11, 2022] to Sergey Lavrov, Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation.
During the audience, the guest conveyed greetings and best wishes of President Vladimir Putin of the Russian Federation to His Majesty the Sultan and the Omani people. He also lauded Oman’s wisdom in dealing with various regional and international issues. He briefed His Majesty about the viewpoint of the Russian side on the current crisis with Ukraine.
His Majesty the Sultan expressed his appreciation for the visit of the Russian Foreign Minister. His Majesty asked him to convey His greetings and best wishes to President Putin.

On the crisis between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Ukraine, His Majesty the Sultan stressed the importance of adhering to international law and intensifying efforts to reach political and diplomatic solutions based on dialogue to preserve the countries’ and peoples’ independence, sovereignty, and peaceful coexistence.
The audience was attended by Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, Morgunov Ilya, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Sultanate of Oman, and members of the delegation accompanying the guest.
