10,000Kms-Long Strategic Oman Australia Cable Reaches Barka

SUB.CO – a specialist consulting and investment company focusing on assisting the development of submarine cable projects – has announced that the 10,000 km-long Oman Australia Cable (OAC) has reached the city of Barka in Oman.
In a statement released by the company, which has partnered with SubCom and Omantel, it was said: “We are so proud and excited to announce the landing of the Oman Australia Cable in Oman. The finish line is in sight for this critically important path from Australia to Oman, then Europe and beyond (!)”
Once live, OAC is set to become the only undersea cable to avoid the “notorious” Malacca Strait and is Australia’s first express undersea cable to EMEA, improving connectivity and resiliency between the regions
The company also thanked the teams who are working hard behind the project alongside SubCom, the key supplier, and Omantel, the landing partner.
