Sohar-A’Dhahirah Water Pipeline Worth RO150M Trial Run Begins
Oman Water and Wastewater Services Company (OWWSC) announced the start of the trial run for its new water pipeline project from the Sohar desalination plant to the Wilayats of the Governorate of A’Dhahirah.
The total cost of the project reached RO 150 million.
Eng. Ibrahim Hamad Al Hasani, the Senior Manager of the project said that the water pipeline is 230kms long and that 15 water tanks were built with a capacity of 451,000 cubic meters in the Wilayats of Sohar, Ibri, and Dhank.
Four pumping stations with a total pumping capacity of 144,000 cubic meters per day were also set up.
The water pipeline is constructed in parallel with the current water pipeline between Sohar and the Governorate of Al Buraimi, which will contribute to providing future water needs.
