Talabat Joins Oman Telecommunications Regulatory Authority To Optimize The Sultanate’s Rest-tech Ecosystem

Muscat: Continuing to support the country’s evolving e-commerce landscape, Talabat, the GCC’s leading food delivery app, recently welcomed a visit from the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA). The meeting, which was led by Eng. Omar Hamdan al-Ismaili, CEO of TRA and Mohamed Zourob, Managing Director of Talabat Oman, highlighted some of Talabat Oman’s major initiatives including Omanisation, its role in the growth of e-commerce, as well as potential collaboration between the TRA and Talabat to continue to upscale Oman’s rest-tech ecosystem.
Eng. Omar Hamdan al-Ismaili, CEO of Telecommunications Regulatory Authority added, “Oman’s e-commerce sector is rapidly growing and it is important for private and public sector entities to build bridges in order to harness the digital and technological capabilities that are available. Talabat has made trailblazing advancements in the growing online food delivery industry and we look forward to working together to leverage its global expertise to provide an environment of growth and further boost the economy.”

As Oman’s largest food delivery and grocery delivery platform, Talabat continues to find new ways to use technology to make its customer’s lives easier and provide them with a unique online experience. Most recently, it has pioneered q-commerce with the launch of Talabat Mart, the country’s first dark store. Meanwhile, it continues to support Omanisation with its campaign to offer opportunities for freelance riders, which has so far onboarded over 1,000 drivers.
