PDO Signs Contract To Hire & Train 58 Omani Personnel As Medics On Rig
Muscat: The Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), signed a contract with two firms to engage and employ 55 Omani medics on oil rigs.
As per the conditions of the agreements signed by the parties, PDO will hire and train the Omani nationals who will then be contracted out to Abraj Energy Services (AES) & KCA Deutag (KCAD) upon the completion of their training which will last between up to five months, out of the 58 Omani personnel – 40 will be onboarded by AES while the remaining 18 will be onboarded by KCAD.
PDO External Affairs and Value Creation Director Eng Abdulamir bin Abdulhussein Al Ajmi commented, “We are constantly striving with our contractors to identify meaningful and rewarding jobs for Omanis across the wide spectrum of our activities. The health and welfare of those working with us are paramount, and those employed through this new program will take on the vital responsibility of caring for them in the field. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to our partners for working with us to enable dozens of nationals to take up such important positions.”
