UK Approves Pfizer/BioNTech Coronavirus Vaccine; Inoculation To Begin Next Week
The United Kingdom became the first country in the world to approve the highly-acclaimed Pfizer/BioNTech Coronavirus vaccine.
Setting the tone for mass inoculation, the new vaccine is reported to be 95 per cent effective in protecting people from COVID-19.

As per the BBC, the MHRA – Britain’s medicine regulator – stated that the vaccine is 95 per cent effective, and that it is safe to be rolled out.
Eight hundred thousand doses are expected to be available in the UK from next week, and people will be contacted by the NHS for inoculation.
Priority will be given to the elderly, caregivers, and NHS staff – though a rounded priority list is expected to be released soon.
Pfizer had stated earlier in November that as much as 50 million vaccines would hit the global markets before the end of this year, while another 1.3 billion will be supplied to health professionals by 2021.
Named the BNT162b2, the mRNA-based vaccine was jointly developed by American pharmaceutical company Pfizer and German biotech company BioNTech.
