Here’s Everything Travellers Need To Know As The Oman-UAE Border Opens Up

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman has entered an agreement to allow travellers into the United Arab Emirates by road from the coming week.
Revealed by H.E. Dr. Ahmed al Saeedi, Oman’s Minister of Health, news of the border opening for both residents and expats came on Thursday, November 12.
A new statement issued by the Emirates News Agency (WAM) corroborates the minister’s declaration and adds that the land border will open up from Monday, November 16, 2020.
It is mandatory for travellers to present a negative PCR test result, provided that the pre-examination is from an accredited laboratory in Oman. Moreover, the validity period of the test should not exceed 48 hours from the date of the test.
Travellers are also required to conduct a COVID-19 test at the border upon arrival and follow all preventive and precautionary measures according to the approved protocols, in addition to installing the ‘Al Hosn’ application. A PCR test is also mandatory on the fourth day if they have stayed for four consecutive days in the UAE.
In case a person is tested at the port and the result is positive, procedures for a denial of entry will be applied, according to international rules and regulations, the agency added.
