Live webinar jointly hosted by UAQ FTZ and ABCC explores co-operation between UAE and UK for business synergy. Business and Trade Relations between UAE and UK stronger than ever; further scope for growth
Cross-border business synergies were the main focus at the live webinar hosted by Umm Al Quwain Free Trade Zone (UAQ FTZ) in association with Arab – British Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) on June 15, 2020. The Keynote Speaker at this insightful webinar on Opportunities in the Gulf, Umm Al Quwain Free Trade Zone: A Platform for UAE – UK Co-operation was H E Mr Humaid Mohamed Ben Salem, Secretary General of the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry & Chairman of the International Chamber of Commerce, UAE.
Panellists that included Bandar Reda, Secretary General & CEO of The Arab British Chamber of Commerce; Emma Heelis-Adams, a partner in Burges Salmon LLP, UK; Peter Bishop, Deputy Chief Executive of the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry UK (LCCI) and Johnson George, General Manager of UAQ FTZ gave attendees an inside look on how one could set up business in both UAE – a country reputed for its robust economy, state-of-the art infrastructure, ease of doing business and great business relationships – and UK. Taxation, compliance, business setup and opportunities were some of the areas covered in the webinar.
“Delivering value underpins our client relations,” said Mr George as he explained how UAQ FTZ’s key strategies for incentivizing investments not just for multinational companies but also start-ups, SMEs and MSME made it one of the most bankable investment partners for global businesses in the MENA region.
Peter Bishop applauded the on-going effort made in business and trade relations between the UK and the UAE which made this relationship stronger than ever during these challenging times and gives it further scope for growth. He reiterated interest in jointly facilitating a cross border delegation to explore opportunities in the Umm Al Quwain Free Trade Zone, UAE and vice versa.
