Amin solar plant in Thumrait appoints Enertis as Owner’s Engineer

Global Engineering consultancy Enertis has been appointed as the Owner’s Engineer for the 100MW Amin photovoltaic (PV) solar plant, touted to be the first of its kind project in Oman, located approximately 210 km North East of Thumrait, Oman.
The Marubeni Consortium, comprising the Marubeni Corporation (Japan) as the lead founder, Oman Gas Company, Bahwan Renewable Energy Company and Modern Channels Services won the contract for this landmark project, from Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) in 2018.
Part of an Independent Power Producer (IPP) project, the Amin Solar plant project has a 23-year power purchase agreement and will supply power to PDO’s interior operations. Earlier in February this year, The Marubeni Consortium said that the scheduled commercial operation date is projected for May 2020.
