HM The Sultan, German Chancellor Hold Private Meeting
His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and Olaf Scholz, Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, held an exclusive meeting at the Chancellery’s premises in Berlin today.
Upon His Majesty the Sultan’s arrival at the Chancellery, he was welcomed by Scholz and senior German government officials.
Then, His Majesty the Sultan attended a luncheon hosted in his honour by the German Chancellor to mark his official visit to the Federal Republic of Germany.
During the banquet, His Majesty the Sultan and Scholz reviewed the growing bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and discussed ways of upgrading the existing cooperation and partnership to serve the common interests of the Omani and German peoples. They also exchanged views about a variety of issues of common concern in the backdrops of developments in regional and international arenas.
The luncheon was attended Gen. Sultan Mohammed Al Nu’amani, Minister of the Royal Office; Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister of Oman; Dr. Hamad Said Al Aufi, Head of the Private Office; Abdussalam Mohammed Al Murshidi, Chairman of Oman Investment Authority; Eng. Salim Nasser Al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals; and Sayyid Dr. Sultan Yaarub Al Busaidi, Adviser at the Private Office.
The luncheon was also attended by Steffen Hebestreit, State Secretary; Dr. Jörg Kukies, State Secretary; Janet Schoenberger, Head of the Private Office of the German Chancellor; and Thomas Schneider, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Sultanate of Oman; among other officials.
