Shell Oman empowering Omani youth
As part of Shell Oman Marketing Company’s continuous efforts towards nurturing and empowering Omani youth, the Company’s annual Summer Internship Programme is providing on-the-job training and development opportunities for Omani students from various local and international educational entities.
The 37 interns have been placed in different departments within the Company. In addition to learning in a professional environment, the interns will gain exposure to the Company’s culture, benefit from its access to global expertise and know-how, develop skills needed to excel in their career, and learn from mentors with years of industry experience in local and global markets.
Commenting on this programme, Essam Al Busaidi, Human Resources and Administration Manager said, “In keeping with our belief in the current generation of Omani youngsters, we are constantly exploring opportunities and designing programmes to empower them towards a brighter future. We believe in the value of these internship opportunities as they help provide these young talents with the knowledge and skills needed to excel and stand out in an increasingly competitive job market.”
“Shell Oman’s Summer Internship Programme is part of its annual corporate social responsibility agenda. The Company will be passing onto the interns the diverse experience of our highly knowledgeable and talented team of employees, who will be guiding and supervising them through this internship. We look forward to training and developing the nation’s next generation of industry leaders and supporting students from across Oman in their journey to explore and establish their interests and careers in the sector.”
