Oman Oil Marketing Company (omanoil) successfully became the first Omani company to be awarded the integrated new versions of ISO standards (2015) for 9001:2015 Quality Management, ISO14001:2015 Environmental Management, ISO27001:2013 Information Security Management as well as OHSAS18001:2007 Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems. The accolades are a result of the company’s compliance and operational upgrades in-line with the newly revamped ISO certification standards.
Mohammed Al Mujaini, Senior Manager of Health, Safety, Security and Environment and Quality Assurance said, “Our journey to achieve this benchmark began in 2013, when we started conducting a detailed analysis of our operations to find ways to improve upon the ISO and global qualifications we already had. The systematic approach we adopted led in the implementation of highly progressive measures, including the latest health policies, a thorough risk assessment for all employees, and the development of a dedicated internal auditing team. Those changes, as well as the strong support from our top management and hard work of our employees, have allowed us to become the first Omani company to earn this milestone and will help us continue exceeding the expectations of customers nationwide.”
He added, “Our environmental footprint, product quality, and customer satisfaction have always been a central component of our operations. These global certifications illustrate the long-term value we wish to bring to Oman and its people. Today’s accomplishment is a translation of our efforts to raise industry standards across the Sultanate.”
ISO, as an internationally accredited organization, continuously updates its standards to match industry developments. Introduced last quarter of 2015, the new certification standards provide guidelines to ensure that materials, products, and services are up to international level. Originally developed by a non-governmental international organization with a contemporary membership of 162 national bodies, the certificates were created to facilitate the global coordination and unification of industrial standards.
