Royal Visit
His Majesty the Sultan visits Petroleum Development Oman and inaugurates the ‘Bait Al-Haitham’ Integrated Operations Center
His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik Al Said paid a gracious visit to Petroleum Development Oman in the Governorate of Muscat to learn about prominent projects and developments in the energy sector.

Upon His Majesty the Sultan’s arrival at the company headquarters, he was received by His Excellency Engineer Salim bin Nasser Al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals, His Excellency Mohsin bin Hamad Al Hadhrami, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Petroleum Development Oman, and Dr. Aflah Al Hadhrami, the company’s Managing Director.
Following that, Dr. Aflah Al Hadhrami delivered a welcome speech on the occasion of the esteemed visit of His Majesty the Sultan. After that, His Majesty watched a visual presentation that covered the most prominent stages of the company’s development and the results it has achieved in the oil and gas sector, reviewing its efforts in developing the work environment and raising performance levels, in addition to its future vision and projects related to modern technologies.
His Majesty then unveiled the commemorative curtain, signaling the official opening of the “Bait Al-Haitham” Integrated Operations Center, which is the main control and command center for the energy sector in the Sultanate of Oman. It was designed to be a sophisticated digital edifice concerned with real-time monitoring of all operational processes in the oil and gas sector under one operational system. It is considered one of the major national projects, and a pioneer at the global level. It was established as a translation of the wise and lofty vision of His Majesty and it will contribute directly to the sustainability of the national economy.
His Majesty the Sultan also viewed the wall exhibition that documents the most important historical milestones of Petroleum Development Oman, the journey of institutional transformation, increased production, future strategic plans and its initiatives in the areas of sustainability, digital transformation and the development of national competencies.

At the conclusion of the royal visit, His Majesty the Sultan graciously wrote a message in the visitors’ book, expressing his pleasure on this auspicious occasion, wishing success to all those working in this sector, and the achievement of more accomplishments. Afterwards, a group photo was taken of His Majesty the Sultan with a number of the company’s employees, in commemoration of the Royal visit.

His Majesty the Sultan was accompanied during the visit by His Highness Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, His Excellency Sultan bin Salim Al Habsi, Minister of Finance, His Excellency Dr. Hamad bin Said Al Aufi, Head of the Private Office, His Excellency Abdul Salam bin Mohammed Al Murshidi, President of the Oman Investment Authority, and His Excellency Anwar bin Hilal Al Jabri, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion.
