Oman’s Jusoor Foundation Inducts Production In Citruses Medical Patent Project
Jusoor Foundation inducted the actual production of the greenhouses project, which is a part of the citruses medical patent programme in its two phases.
The programme, funded by OQ, is implemented in the Wilayat of Sohar, the Governorate of North Al Batinah.
The inauguration ceremony was held under the patronage of Dr Ahmed Nasser Al Bakri, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources for Agriculture. Present at the event was Sheikh Mohammed Sulaiman Al Kindi, the Governor of North Al Batinah.
The event’s patron and the attendees were briefed on the project’s different phases and the production of saplings and citrus plants in the greenhouses.
Dr Hamdan Salim Al Wahaibi, Director General for Agricultural and Livestock Research underscored the importance of the citruses medical patent programme in producing disease-free citrus saplings and reducing economic losses incurred by farmers.
In his turn, Jaber Sulaiman Al Busaidi, CEO of Jusoor Foundation said that the total cost of the two phases of the project reached RO105,000.
