MDO And Oman Chromite Sign Agreement for Chromite Ore Exploration

Muscat: The Oman Chromite Company has signed an agreement with Minerals Development Oman (MDO) to jointly explore and prospect chromite ore in two exploration sites located in the Governorates of Al Batinah North and Al Buraimi. The two companies confirmed the signing of the exploration agreement through their tweets on Thursday.
Last year, Oman Chromite Company produced the highest quantity of chromite ever. The company produced 45,194 tons of chromite ore during 2021 compared to a production amount of 10,597 tons in 2020, a sharp increase of 426 percent.
The increase in production was achieved as a result of the company’s efforts in developing its exploration and extraction activities and as a result of the commencement of work on the Mahrah mine, for which the mining permit was obtained in June 2021, stated the Oman Chromite Company in its annual financial report.
