Sohar Port Resumes Normal Operations Since Early Morning: CEO

Muscat: Mark Geilenkirchen, the CEO of Sohar Port and Freezone, has affirmed the resumption of maritime services at the port.
He said that it was business as usual since the start of the day, following the end of the climatic conditions brought about by the tropical cyclone – Shaheen.
Sohar Port will continue to maintain its vital role in handling export and import materials, said Geilenkirchen.
In a statement to the Oman News Agency (ONA), Geilenkirchen said that no damages to the port’s infrastructure or injuries to employees were reported. He affirmed that Sohar Port and Free Zone company places the safety and security of its employees and partners on top of its priorities.
Geilenkirchen thanked all employees and partners who worked selflessly over the past 48 hours to ensure occupational safety and sustain the operations of the port. He also expressed appreciation for the relentless efforts exerted by all government departments concerned to ensure the safety and security of all during adverse conditions.
