Oman Switzerland Friendship Association Board meet with Swiss Ambassador
Muscat: On Thursday 27th May 2021, the Board Members of the Oman Switzerland Friendship Association (OSFA) met with the Swiss Ambassador, H.E. Balz Abplanalp. For most of the recently elected Board, this was their first introduction to the Ambassador.
Hosted at The Zubair Corporation by OSFA Chairman, Hani Al Zubair, the meeting was arranged to give the Ambassador the opportunity to share his vision of how OSFA and the Embassy can support each other in the years to come. In turn, it provided useful insight for the OSFA Board to consider which areas to focus on during their tenure.
Speaking of the relationship, H.E. Balz said, “The Swiss Embassy and OSFA are the two legs of contact between Oman and Switzerland and they must walk together to make progress”. After a short presentation, the Ambassador expressed his excitement to work with OSFA in the months and years to come. A sentiment echoed by the OSFA Board Members who were grateful for the opportunity to exchange ideas and thoughts with the Ambassador.
In thanking His Excellency for his time, Hani Al Zubair commented, “The aim is to broaden the base of expertise available to OSFA; the more that can be done together with the Embassy, the more successful each entity can be, for the good of economic and social development and advancement”.
