Joe Biden Beats Trump To Win US Presidential Elections: US Media
After what has been a tight race so far, the 2020 US presidential election has seen Joe Biden come up on top of his Republican counterpart and presidential candidate Donald Trump.
The Democrat is now projected to have 290 Electoral College votes, as per details revealed by the Associated Press (AP) on Saturday [November 7]. This, reportedly, is above the required threshold for Joe Biden to win the US presidential election.
At the time of publishing this story, Joe Biden had surpassed AP’s and BBC’s 270 electoral-vote projections with a total of 290 electoral votes (as per data revealed at 5:18 pm GMT).

The news comes after his projected win in Pennsylvania.
It is common practice in US elections for media outlets to call and project a winner in the electoral race when they have determined that a candidate no longer has a path to victory.

It is understood that US President Donald Trump hasn’t acknowledged AP projections, and is expected to “challenge the results in the states of Georgia, Pennsylvania, Arizona, and Michigan”.
American media reports that this election has seen the highest turnout since 1900. Business Live Middle East learns that Joe Biden has snagged 73 million votes so far – making him the most-voted-for presidential candidate in US history.
