China Mobile and Huawei have collectively brought 5 G coverage to a greater height by taking the network to the top of Mount Everest following completion of the world’s highest 5 G base station at an altitude of 6,500 metres. Together with the completion of the 6.500-metre Gigabit optical fiber network, Huawei is allowing China Mobile to operate its dual Gigabit network on Mount Ev.

Huawei provided its end-to-end technologies for the building of China Mobile’s Everest dual Gigabit network, where base stations were located in Mount Everest Base Camp at an altitude of 5,300 metres, the Transfer Camp at 5,800 metres, and the Forward Camp at 6,500 metres.

The 5 G AAU and SPN systems of Huawei are used at these base stations, where network testing and configuration is carried out by a dozen network technicians who are deployed 24/7 in regions at altitudes of 5,300 meters and above to maintain seamless network activity.

Huawei firmly claims that development means making the planet a safer environment. The uniqueness of Mount Everest can be viewed through 5 G high-definition imagery and VR experience, which also provides mountaineers, scientists and other nature experts with more perspectives. Once again, the pioneering institution on Mount Everest shows that 5 G infrastructure links Humanity and the World harmoniously.
