BAE Systems Oman has renewed its commitment to support Outward Bound Oman for a second year at the annual gathering of Outward Bound Oman.
The partnership, signed in the presence of His Excellency Khalid Al Marhoon, Minister of Civil Service, and in the presence of Outward Bound Oman Patron His Highness Sayyid Faisal bin Turki Al Said, will see up to 72 young Omanis undertake intensive four-day courses designed to develop their self-awareness, self-assurance, resilience, leadership and team function expertise.

2018/2019 saw BAE Systems Oman sponsor four courses where more than 65 Omani students undertook challenging personal development training in Jebel Akhdar. In addition to sponsoring the programme, BAE Systems Oman provided experienced mentors for the Outward Bound students, one of which, Ali Al Khambashi was honoured at the event as the most outstanding corporate mentor of the year.
The first course under the renewed agreement for 2019/2020 took place from the 28th to the 31st October on Jebel Akhdar with the participation of 20 students from Izki. The next course is scheduled from the 11th to the 14th November.

The courses have a specific emphasis on enhancing young people’s employability, focusing on a series of discussions and activities that encourage the participants to determine the important expertise employers look for when recruiting young individuals.
The challenging journey takes the students through the terrain of Jebel Akhdar and Sharqiya sands and offers the chance to put all of the theoretical expertise into practice prior to a period of reflection at the conclusion of each course.
