Supreme Committee Issues Key Decisions As COVID-19 Cases Go Past 1,000 Per Day

Muscat: The Supreme Committee tasked with dealing with the Coronavirus has issued key decisions today [March 31] in a bid to reduce the number of COVID-19 cases in the Sultanate, as the Ministry of Health marked over 1,000 positive cases daily on Monday and Tuesday this week.
The first announcement was to suspend the attendance of students in private and international schools. Schools have been instructed to revert to distance education with the exception of students in Grade 12.
This decision will come into effect from Sunday, April 4, 2021, and will be in place until further notice.
The Committee has also suspended all official and public sporting activities with effect from Thursday, April 1, 2021.
The decision also included reducing the number of employees who are required to attend the workplace at the units of the state administrative apparatus and the other public legal entities to 50 per cent of the total number of employees.
The decision will come into effect on Sunday, April 4, 2021, and will remain in place until further notice.
