Labour Ministry Signs Cooperation Programme with Vodafone Oman
MUSCAT: The Ministry of Labour today signed a contract for a cooperation programme with Vodafone Oman to train job seekers in Oman and engage different sectors.
The programme seeks to draft plans and strategies to prepare Omani job seekers to join the labour market, notably in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector, in accordance with vacancies available at Vodafone.
A joint committee will be formed to follow up the project and the method of selection of trainees in line with a sound assessment mechanism.
The training programme will last one year from the date of signing – and it pertains to on-the-job training of 140 jobseekers.
The cooperation programme was signed by Sayyid Salim Musallam Al Busaidi, Human Resources Undersecretary at the Ministry of Labour, and Badr Saud Al Zaidi, the CEO of Vodafone Oman.
