Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi
With stunning architecture and a rich history dating back to the 13th century, Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi is a multidisciplinary university that attracts high-calibre students from the UAE and around the world.
Established in 2006, our state-of-the-art campus operates under the academic leadership of Sorbonne University in Paris awarding degrees in the arts, humanities, sciences, law, management and economics. Following the ECTS system, all of our graduates receive globally certified French degrees accredited by the UAE Ministry of Education.
To date, we have produced over 1700 graduates from more than 90 countries while forging a reputation for academic excellence and innovation.
To ensure quality, we maintain small classes, enabling us to tailor our teaching methods to individual styles of learning. We also bring our faculty from Sorbonne Université in Paris, guaranteeing the same quality teaching present in our parent institution. In addition, our admissions process is highly selective, ensuring that individual talent benefits from collective excellence.
With 10 bachelor programmes taught in French (except for our BA in Physics) and 12 master degrees taught in English (except for the Master in Teaching French as a Foreign Language), Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi is also home to the Continuing & Executive Education Department (CEED) for working professionals. Through a series of certificates and diplomas, the CEED provides lifelong learning programmes for professionals wishing to acquire new vocational skills.
In support of the UAE’s vision of a knowledge-based economy, Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi grants scholarships to students from all nationalities. Emirati students are eligible to apply for a scholarship towards their undergraduate fees for all three years of study, plus foundation years where applicable, following a grant by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. We have also introduced a new scholarship programme for the 2019-2020 academic year for international students, residents and non-residents of the UAE who wish to undertake our Diploma in Intensive French.
Prof. Eric Fouache, Executive Director Sorbonne Abu Dhabi, said: “A degree from Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi is much more than an academic achievement. It’s the culmination of a journey where students are continuously encouraged to think outside the norm and contribute to society as a whole. We equip our students with the knowledge and tools required to succeed in their chosen career paths, and contribute towards the UAE’s knowledge-based economy.”
