Five Things to know about the new Mohammed bin Zayed Residential City

The construction of the AED1.9 billion Mohamed bin Zayed City Residential City project in Fujairah is now complete, according to the Follow-up Committee of the Initiatives of the UAE President. The city has been set up in line with the vision of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.
His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, was overseeing the project, which was launched to improve quality and standard of living among Emirati families and provide them with the required support and stability.
Here are five things to know about Mohamed bin Zayed Residential City
There will be 1,100 residential villas
The 2.2sqkm city, built at the cost of AED1.9 billion, is located in the Al Hail area, 3km south of Fujairah airport, and will accommodate 1,100 residential villas equipped with advanced facilities, with the aim of providing housing for about 7,000 citizens. The housing units of the city comprise 583 5-bedroom villas, 417 4-bedroom villas, and 100 3-bedroom villas.
Parks and Recreation
The Mohamed bin Zayed Residential City includes 20 public parks and plots of land designated for public services and future plans include schools, mosques, parks and commercial stores in addition to a community cultural centre and a men’s council.

Modern Designs & Infrastructure
Modern designs with innovative ideas, the city is a combination of local and Andalusian heritage and features an advanced infrastructure that includes 40 km of roads, 139 km of electrical network, as well as a street lighting network of 858 light posts, in addition to a drinking water network of 58 km and a rainwater drainage network of 13 km.
Excellent Public Facilities
The city also includes three main power stations and 19 subsidiary power stations and pumping station for firefighting, in addition to a sewage system station. The facilities include a firefighting network that extends over 35km, an irrigation network with a length of 39km, a sewage network extending over 43km, and a communication network that is 86km long.

Makani Smart Addressing System
The Fujairah Municipality has also installed 1,100 signage boards based on the Makani smart addressing system covering all units in Mohamed bin Zayed City as part of efforts to transform Fujairah into a smart city.
