Assarain inks deal with SandRose Trading for Duqm cement factory

Assarain Concrete Products (Duqm) LLC (ACPD)’s new factory in Duqm has begun its construction following the inking of a deal with SandRose Trading LLC as the contractor for the project.
The new factory is being built to meet demands for high quality concrete products needed for continuously new projects cropping up in Duqm Special Economic Zone, according to Khalid Said al Wahaibi, Managing Director, Assarain Group.
Semac & Partners LLC are consultants for the project, having just recently completed supervision of another of the company’s block plant in Muscat, which is now under commissioning.
Among those who attended the signing ceremony included P.R. Bhat, Technical Director, Solomon Moses, General Manager of Semac & Partners LLC, Said Abdullah Majid al Balushi, Managing Director of SandRose Trading LLC and its Operation Head PP Ajayan. All the parties involved committed to the completion of project on time.

The Duqm factory will not only supply concrete products to Al Wusta and Dhofar governorates, it will also offer versatile designs that cater to individualised needs of customers. The facility will be fully equipped to manufacture concrete products to the high-quality standards required by the infrastructure, oil & gas, housing and tourism sectors, according to the company.
Earlier in 2018, ACPD, which is part of Assarain Group, had signed a a 25-year-long usufruct (land) renewable lease agreement for a sizeable plot of 60,000sqm with Duqm Industrial Land Company (DILC), a subsidiary of Port of Duqm Company (PDC)
