The second edition of ‘Shell Super Mileage Challenge’ saw eight teams compete on safe fuel-efficient driving using ‘Shell Super’. After the 100-km, two-stage challenge, extended from the North Azaiba Shell service station to Oman Dive Centre near Qantab and back, the RQ team of Qasim bin Mohammed bin Said Al-Farsi and Rami Jamal Ahmed Ismail won the grand prize of Shell fuel cards for 2500 litres of Shell Super petrol each after achieving an event record of 19.2 kmpl in a two-litre car. I work in incident management which involves identifying, analysing, and correcting hazards to prevent a future re-occurrence.
How did you learn of Shell Super Mileage Challenge?
My colleague Rami had heard about this challenge and he contacted me to be a part of his team. After I learned more about the challenge, I got motivated to participate.
Why did you participate in Shell Super Mileage Challenge? And did you enjoy the event?
I personally advocate the concept of safe driving within my family and friends and my colleague Rami told me that the Shell Super Mileage Challenge is meant to spread awareness on both safe driving and fuel efficiency. I decided to participate to play a role in spreading awareness of safe driving among the public. Also, I drive for long distances often and having the right fuel that gives me more kilometers is essential for my driving habits.
What is Shell Super to you?
Shell Super is the product I go for when I know I will be driving for a long distance as I do believe it gives me extra kilometers and stays longer in my vehicle.

I saw its advertisement in one of the daily papers and since the challenge aims to promote safe driving I did not think twice to sign up my name.
Why did you participate in Shell Super Mileage Challenge? And did you enjoy the event?
Safe driving can save lives and I want to be part of this event that will bring awareness to the public. Also, this is a great way to examine and test myself on how well do I drive both safely and economically.
What is Shell Super to you?
Shell products are what I use to ensure the highest quality to my car. I don’t only use Shell fuels but I also use Shell Lubricants for that same reason.
What is the message that you would want to give to drivers in Oman?
Firstly and most importantly I urge them all to make safe driving their priority rather than reaching their destination the fastest way possible. Do not make driving a habit; it should be a conscious decision to ensure the safety of themselves and others.
