Oman’s Tender Board Awards Projects Worth Over RO131mn
The Tender Board awarded a number of projects to the tune of RO131,430,118 this week [December 26, 2022].
The projects were awarded during the Tender Board’s 7th meeting of the year (2022), chaired by Dr. Said Mohammed Al Saqri, the Minister of Economy and Chairman of the Tender Board.
The tasks endorsed by the Tender Board included the construction of a dyke for projection against flood water at the gorge of Wadi Addai, Wilayat of Al Amerat, Governorate of Muscat at a cost of RO38,660,023 and a 5-year project to supply, design and install the ‘Government Financial System’ for the Ministry of Finance at a cost of RO21,345,353.
The Government Financial System’s project is undertaken by Mohsin Haider Darwish (MHD) and a number of international partners specialising in electronic financial systems.
This tender also offers rights to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to implement some tasks of the project, which will be operational after five years.
The Ministry of Finance pointed out that the financial system’s users will move gradually to the new electronic system codenamed ‘Maliyah’ within the next five years, with support from the project’s team based at the ministry and the main partner.
