World’s largest underwater theme park in Bahrain makes a grand splash!

Dive Bahrain is arguably the world’s largest underwater theme park covering an expanse of 100,000m2 and is now open to all water sport enthusiasts!
Located near the Bahrain International Airport, the park’s central attraction is a 70m-long decommissioned Boeing 747, said to be the largest aircraft ever to be intentionally submerged.
Dive Bahrain, developed by Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) and the Supreme Council for Environment (SCE), features among other attractions a replica of a traditional Bahraini pearl merchant’s house, which is being overseen by Diyar Al Muharraq.
Artificial coral reefs and other sculptures will also be fabricated and submerged to provide a safe haven for coral reef growth and to ensure a sustainable habitat for marine life, apart from which the eco-friendly park will also be a resource for marine ecology researchers and act as a medium for awareness of marine life protection.

The park, which is definitely geared to attract global attention and recognition, will reinforce Bahrain’s position as an ideal tourism destination apart from ensuring that it is recognised as a key player in the global eco-tourism and marine wildlife preservation arena.
