Another long flight? Here’s your survival guide
All excited about your next trip? Can’t wait to get there? What if we told you that you’ll take 24 hours by flight to get there? Still excited?
Long-haul flights can be a mood dampener before travelling to your favourite destination. Don’t worry, here’s how to stay fresh and make your journey just as exciting as the destination:
Forget chic. Get the right fit.
Yes, it’s OK to be stylish but when you are taking a long flight, you’ll have to think of comfort rather than style. Choose apparel that is easy on your skin and allows you to breathe easy. Always carry a jacket or something warm in your hand baggage as it can get pretty nippy in the cabin at 35000+ feet above sea level.
Our pick: A pair of track pants, hoodies, and flip-flops are just about right for those uber-long flights.
Bring in your gadget gear
Make sure you have downloaded your favourite Netflix series or movies on your laptop, tablet or smartphone before you step into that flight. Noise-cancelling headphones, will keep the sound of tittering kids at bay. Carry soft and soulful music to keep you relaxed during the flight.
Eat. Sleep. Relax. Repeat
Sometimes, in-flight meals aren’t enough to satiate your hunger. Therefore, carry some light bites or snacks to keep you replenished. Stay hydrated with plenty of water and fluids to keep you fresh and alert. Take a nap as you don’t want to look or feel like a zombie when you land.
Another important tip, take a break after every 3 to 4 hours. You can do that by getting up from your seat and walking down the aisle to improve blood circulation. It has long been known that flying is associated with an increased risk of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), so make sure that you step out on the aisle and keep that blood circulation going.
So, ready to take-off? Happy Journey!
