His Majesty The Sultan Chairs Meeting Of The Supreme Judicial Council
His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik – may Allah protect him – chaired a meeting of the Supreme Judicial Council at the Al Baraka Palace today [June 23].
The meeting comes in light of His Majesty the Sultan’s vision to further develop the judiciary facility after the issuance of Royal Decree No. 35/2022, which aims to regulate the administration of judicial affairs.
In the meeting, His Majesty the Sultan emphasised the contents of the Decree in line with the texts of the basic System of the State and the objectives of the Oman Vision 2040.
His Majesty The Sultan also outlined the importance of enhancing integration between all judicial authorities on one hand, and between them and the units of the State’s Administrative Apparatus in a way that achieves public interest.
He also directed all necessary legal measures to be taken to amend the laws and Royal Decrees related to the judiciary in accordance with the provisions of the aforementioned Decree, pointing out the importance of continuing to develop the work of the judicial system and the governance of its procedures in line with the Government’s direction in digital transformation and in accordance with Oman Vision 2040 frameworks to achieve the desired goals.
His Majesty – may Allah support him – also directed that the Administrative Appeals Chambers and the Administrative Chambers of First Instance continue to consider the cases brought before them until the beginning of the next judicial year, provided that the consideration of cases will resume in accordance with the aforementioned Royal Decree at the beginning of the judicial year.
