Waldorf Astoria Ras Al Khaimah Announces Yosuke Matsuoka as New Chef De Cuisine at Umi Restaurant
Waldorf Astoria Ras Al Khaimah is delighted to welcome Yosuke Matsuoka as the new Chef De Cuisine at UMI Restaurant.
Beginning his culinary career in 1996 as a Chef and Banquet Chef Roll, he has collected significant experiences in various Japanese and international restaurants and five-star hotels. In 2005, he was promoted as a head chef in two renowned restaurants in the United States of America. Bringing his extensive set of skills and experiences, he worked in Spain as Head Sushi Chef in 2012. Through time, he became an Executive Chef in the Japanese section of Grand Hotel Cocumella, a five-star hotel in Italy, where he created traditional and Mediterranean-infused dishes.
For three years, he has set off as Head Sushi Chef at The Taj Mahal Palace Mumbai’s Wasabi by Morimoto restaurant, awarded as Asia Top 50 Restaurant in 2017.
Matsuoka’s 24 years of gastronomic experiences and Certificate of Culinary Arts in Japanese cuisine are very substantial to his new role as Chef De Cuisine, ensuring that menu development, food presentation, and kitchen operations meet the highest standard of culinary protocols.
Commenting on his new position, Yosuke Matsuoka said, “It is a great pleasure to join the talented culinary team of UMI Restaurant at Waldorf Astoria Ras Al Khaimah. It is known as a trendy restaurant filled with delectable selections of Japanese cuisine. With my new role, I aim to contribute my knowledge and first-hand experiences of the authentic Japanese dishes originated from my homeland to continue delivering exemplary services and gastronomic experiences to all our valued guests.”
