Oman LNG exports over 1900 cargoes from Oman since production began in 2000
Oman LNG is involved in the business of producing and selling liquefied natural gas (LNG) and its by-product, natural gas liquids (NGLs). The Company undertakes, directly or indirectly, project operations and related activities essential to liquefy, store, transport, market Oman’s natural gas and deliver LNG to customers. It operates three liquefaction trains with a nameplate capacity of 10.4 million tonnes per annum (mtpa). The Company is fully committed to contributing to the Government’s objective of diversifying the economy.
The LNG produced from Oman LNG’s three-train plant facility in Sur is sold to high value markets in Asia and Europe, from which shareholders including the Government of Oman as a major investor, earn substantial returns for the economic and social development of Oman and function as key contributors to the welfare of Omani citizens. Over 1900 cargoes have been exported from the Sultanate of Oman since the beginning of production in 2000.
International certifications like the BS-OHSAS 180001:2007 supports the Company in reducing the risks linked to occupational health and safety, related to employees, customers and the general public, in the work place. The company’s careful application of rigorous safety and environmental standards to all its activities enabled a remarkable achievement of 16 million plus man-hours without a Lost Time Injury (LTI) at the end of 2015.
Oman LNG has embarked on a mission to invest in technology and 2015 marked the transition from a segregated to a fully integrated Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) system, which provides a comprehensive solution that connects all resourcing systems together under one roof.
Oman LNG Development Foundation (ODF) has been launched to further bolster Oman LNG’s pioneering social investment programmes. The Foundation seeks to provide support in various areas of Oman’s growth and development. These areas cover a broad spectrum including infrastructure, housing, development of young Omanis including addressing national concerns such as jobseekers, Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) development, delivery of medical care services, support for education, supporting tourism and cultural heritage among others, with year-to-date over 3,600 projects executed.
