Oman Housing Bank launches digital waiting list for housing loans

The Oman Housing Bank launched the digital waiting list platform for housing finance today, signaling the start of a new phase in the journey to obtain housing finance, as part of the opening of the real estate exhibition accompanying the Dhofar Autumn Season 2026.

The launch ceremony of the platform was sponsored by His Highness Sayyid Marwan bin Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar, who explained that the launch of the digital service will enable citizens to register on the housing finance waiting list electronically, without the need to visit bank branches in the first phase.

This represents an actual start to processing the requests for the months of April and May, which number 1,252 requests distributed across the bank’s various branches, with a total financing value exceeding RO63 million, in a step that reflects the bank’s readiness to accelerate financing procedures and raise the efficiency of service provision to citizens.

The digital waiting list allows citizens to create their accounts, enter their personal, professional, and housing data, specify financing preferences, and upload the required documents electronically, while receiving notifications at all stages of the application until it is their turn to complete the financing procedures, thus saving time and effort, enhancing the customer experience, and reducing the need to visit branches during the initial stages.

The launch of the platform comes as part of the “Book Your Turn” campaign launched by the bank to introduce the new service, and to consolidate the concept of digital government services that put the citizen at the heart of the development process, and give them a more easy and transparent experience in obtaining financial services.

Musa bin Masoud Al-Jadidi, CEO of Oman Housing Bank, confirmed that the launch of the digital waiting list represents a new milestone in the bank’s digital transformation journey, in line with the objectives of “Oman 2040” vision, which aims to build smarter and more efficient government services.

He said that the launch of the digital waiting list platform comes within the framework of the bank’s comprehensive digital transformation strategy, which aims to completely redesign the customer journey, providing faster, easier and more efficient services, and enabling citizens to start the procedures for obtaining housing finance electronically without the need to visit branches in the early stages. He pointed out that the impact of this platform is not limited to facilitating procedures only, but extends to accelerating the roles of beneficiaries and reducing the waiting time, which contributes to accelerating the movement of housing finance and supporting the goals of national urban development, and reflects the bank’s commitment to providing innovative digital solutions that enhance the customer experience and keep pace with the aspirations of society.

He explained that the Oman Housing Bank continues to invest in modern digital solutions, following the successes it has achieved in developing its electronic platforms and digital channels, stressing that the next phase will witness the launch of more smart services that make obtaining housing finance easier and faster, which will enhance the position of the Oman Housing Bank as a development institution that leads innovation in the financial sector.
