Prayer Rooms In Malls, Shisha Cafes To Reopen In Oman

Muscat Municipality has announced the eighth package of activities that will be permitted to resume operations as per the decisions and guidelines posed by the Supreme Committee tasked with dealing with the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

Announced in a decision today, the municipality will permit shisha parlours to commence operations from January 17 in the Governorate of Muscat.

Moreover, prayer halls in commercial centers (where group prayers are not held) will also be opened from today [Thursday, January 14], and wedding halls can now accommodate 50 per cent more guests – with a maximum of 250 – for weddings.

All establishments have been requested to follow COVID-19 protocols.
