Sur Industrial City signs six contracts worth more than RO56 million

Sur Industrial City, affiliated with the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates ‘Madayn’, succeeded during the first half of this year in signing six contracts with a total investment volume exceeding RO56 million to establish projects in the city with an area of ​​more than 60,000 square meters. These projects cover a variety of sectors, including tourism, energy, gas, communications, and food.

Eng. Nasser bin Hamoud Al-Mabsali, Director General of Sur Industrial City, said that the total cumulative investment in the industrial city by the end of the first half of 2026 had increased to reach RO2.3 billion, while the number of workers in the industrial city is 1,843, of whom 1,076 are Omanis.

He explained to the Oman News Agency that ‘Madayn’ seeks to implement a group of future projects in the industrial city, including the maintenance of Wadi crossing No. 6 within the industrial city’s infrastructure, and the supply of irrigation water to the green belt area in the industrial city, in addition to the project to develop the infrastructure facilities for the shipbuilding and maintenance square.

He noted that the industrial city completed in the first half of 2026 the detailed designs for the shipbuilding and maintenance project, and finalised the general and detailed design of the industrial city’s master plan, and conducted the trial operation of the ‘Sur-1’ solar power plant.

He explained that Sur Industrial City continues its efforts to develop the infrastructure, attract investments, and provide an integrated industrial environment that support economic diversification. It launched the Institutional Excellence Competition, which comes within the framework of Madayn’s efforts aimed at promoting a culture of institutional performance and achieving the goals of sustainable industrial development. The industrial city is also preparing to announce investment opportunities in the fields of training, medicine, the establishment of a workers’ village, and the operation of a quarry.
