Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi discusses Strait of Hormuz navigation security with regional counterparts
His Excellency Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, discussed, during telephone calls with a number of his counterparts in the region, the latest developments and the efforts made to reduce the level of tension.
The contacts included His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah Al Saud, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Excellency Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait, His Excellency Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptians Abroad of the Arab Republic of Egypt, in addition to His Excellency Dr. Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The discussions addressed ways to enhance opportunities for reaching practical, fair and sustainable understandings for navigation and the flow of supply chains through political and diplomatic solutions, in a manner that serves the collective interests of the countries of the region and all parties benefiting from navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.
His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs and his counterparts also stressed the importance of navigation and its safety, and the return of the flow of trade and supply chains related to the regional and global economy, in addition to continuing coordination and consultation in a way that supports the security and stability of the region.
