His Majesty the Sultan arrives in Kazakhstan

His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik arrived this evening in the friendly Republic of Kazakhstan, on a two-day “state” visit.

His Excellency President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, welcomed His Majesty upon his arrival at Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport in Astana, wishing him and his accompanying delegation a pleasant and successful visit.

Afterwards, His Majesty the Sultan shook hands with the Kazakh officials and members of the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Astana. Subsequently, His Excellency the President shook hands with the delegation accompanying His Majesty, and His Majesty the Sultan and His Excellency the President witnessed the review of the guard of honor.

Upon entering Kazakh airspace, the plane carrying His Majesty was escorted by military aircraft belonging to the Kazakh Air Force as a part of the ceremonial in welcome of His Majesty’s gracious visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan.

An official reception ceremony will be held tomorrow to celebrate the visit of His Majesty at the Independence Palace in the Kazakh capital, Astana.
