Oman’s trade surplus reaches RO5.5 billion in July 2026
The Sultanate of Oman’s trade balance recorded a surplus of about RO 5.5 billion by the end of July 2026, compared to a surplus of about RO 3.6 billion during the same period in 2025. Preliminary statistics issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information indicate that the total value of Oman’s merchandise exports reached approximately RO 15.9 billion by the end of July 2026, marking a 17.8 percent increase compared to approximately RO 13.5 billion during the same period in 2025.
Conversely, the value of merchandise imports rose by 5.2 percent, reaching approximately RO 10.4 billion, compared to approximately RO 9.9 billion by the end of July 2025.
Oil and gas exports reached approximately RO 10.4 billion by the end of July 2026, marking a 21.6 percent increase compared to approximately RO 8.6 billion during the same period of the previous year. Non-oil exports also rose to approximately RO 4.3 billion, compared to approximately RO 3.9 billion during the same period in 2025. The value of re-exports from the Sultanate of Oman recorded a growth of 13.6 percent, rising from about RO 1 billion at the end of July 2025 to about RO 1.1 billion at the end of July 2026.
The United Arab Emirates topped the list of destinations for non-oil exports to the Sultanate of Oman with a value of approximately RO 1.4 billion, followed by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with a value of RO 418 million, then India with a value of RO 402 million, while the value of non-oil exports to the United States of America and the Republic of South Korea amounted to RO 286 million and RO 179 million respectively.
As for merchandise imports, the United Arab Emirates topped the list of countries supplying the Sultanate of Oman with a value of about RO 2.9 billion, recording an increase of 23.4 percent compared to the same period in 2025 , followed by the People’s Republic of China with a value of about RO 1.4 billion, then Turkey with a value of RO 745 million, India with a value of RO 744 million, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with a value of RO 649 million.
